Responsibilities: As a Sprinkler Fitter at Four Alarm, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing commissioning, verification, and inspection of fire sprinkler systems and other fire protection equipment.
  • Conducting installations, inspections, and service on various systems including Wet Systems, Dry Systems, Pre-Action Systems, Anti-Freeze Systems, Backflow Devices, Fire Hydrants, and Suppression Systems.
  • Completing and submitting inspection reports in a timely manner.
    • Inspections are done in a fully electronic format with mobile devices or tablets.  Tablets are provided if needed.
  • Providing technical support to customers as needed.
  • Ensuring a positive customer experience with Four Alarm.
  • Reading and comprehending engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals.
  • Take on-call cycle.  Paid for stand-by and call-outs.

Requirements and Skills: To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Service Technician within the Sprinkler industry an asset.
  • Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training Fitter qualification or comparable qualification.
  • Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle license (Abstract maybe required)
  • A backflow (cross connection) testing certificate is an asset.  Training is provided.
  • Fire hydrant knowledge is an asset.  Training is provided.
  • Knowledge of all fire protection systems is an asset.  Training is provided.
  • Knowledge of computers, basic navigation and use of keyboard and touch interfaces is an asset.  All inspections are done electronically on mobile devices and/or tablets.
    • NOTE – All computer requirements are covered with training and practice.  Requirements are basic, reporting interface is simple to navigate and complete.  Systems are in place to automatically backup and submit reports.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience with tablet computers is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits: Joining our team comes with a competitive compensation package, including:

  • Wage $48.00 to $55.00 / Hour  – Compensation commensurate with experience.
